Most of what you see is just an end cap strike which is very easy to replace. In fact, we usually mail the part out with an end cap tool to the customers. They can do it themselves rapidly. If it's a hardcore issue and you end up giving a baffle a fade, we generally can cut the serialized part off and reweld to a new stack.

I just wrap the baffle tube with copper screen wire, filling up the sleeve area. Those filaments do a lot towards reducing the heat and pressure of those gases. By the time they can bounce off of the front of the can and go back over the screen, to follow the other gases out of the baffle stack, they' have lost a lot of their blast and heat.Because that's not a good idea, at least not for more than a few rounds. 22 is really dirty ammo, there's a reason all 22 cans are able to be disassembled and cleaned. We've run 1000rd belts of 7.62x51mm at the M240s continuous full auto cyclic rate through our GPMG 762 silencer with the only side effect being that the silencer outlasts the host firearm because the barrel droops at a certain number of rounds inducing a baffle strike, or in some cases the gun can malfunction stopping the belt.
